Thank You Trader Joes!
KSMO EVAC would like to thank Trader Joe's for thier ongoing support.

The EVAC program originated at Santa Monica Airport in Santa Monica, California, in 1987. These volunteers plan to help keep the airport open during emergency situations, assess damage and report findings to local emergency services officials, and work with other EVAC and public benefit flying groups to bring in emergency personnel from other airports.

Mission Statement:

"The Emergency Volunteer Air Corps promotes and coordinates effective and useful additional General Aviation volunteer participation in emergency relief efforts, especially following disasters."

  • Use member-owned aircraft to support and provide flexibility in the city's response to emergencies.
  • Provide emergency communications services to the city through DCS.
  • Ensure that the Santa Monica airport remains a critical part of the community's resources.
  • Assist in aerial surveys of critical city infrastructure in times of emergency.
  • Enhance the preparedness of all members of the community through various training programs including First Aid, CPR and disaster planning and response.
